    Drummer Ustad Alla Rakha Qureshi, also known as Ustad Allarakha Khan, popularized the musical genre of solo tabla as a concert form. Beginning in the 1960s, Qureshi and sitar master Pandit Ravi Shankar were recognized for their accomplishments in bringing classical Hindustani music to Western audiences.
